This current lighthouse is one of the most powerful French lighthouses. Its light located 100 meters above the sea (32, 85 meters above the ground) can reach the height of 53 kms. It can be visited. Its construction began in 1946 and had been completed in 1950.
At the Cap peninsula, the old semaphore has disappeared. It has been burned during the second world war by the French army before the Germans arrival.
